Founder
Demetrios Papakostas founded Galerie ERGA in 2016 as a rental gallery and community space for Montreal’s emerging artists. Papakostas, an artist himself, saw the need for more spaces by and for artists to find community and share ideas, so he set out to make a multi use gallery which could be a platform for creatives to showcase their work. Born and raised in Montreal, Papakostas hails from Greek descent and brings his multicultural upbringing into his contemporary art, working with geometric abstraction and colour field paintings.
